HELP! Moisturizer/Skin Care Recommendations

Hey guys, I’m looking for some recommendations for great moisturizing skin care products for combination skin. Recently the dry areas on my face has been extra dry, so dry that I can actually see the dry patches. This is the first time my skin has gotten this dry. I haven’t changed anything in my skin care routine, but I think it’s mainly due to the temperature change.

I would prefer drug store products so if you guys have any recommendation, it’ll be greatly appreciated!

  1. I have very dry skin and I use the Nars Sheer Glow. its got a dewy affect to it and makeup the dry patches look moisturized. They also have the Nars Matte liquid foundation as well. Check out my blog as well. Let me know if this helps XO

  2. You should try cetaphil lotion ! It’s about $6-10 and you can find it at most drug stores. I had dry patches before and tried all kinds of lotion and none of them worked until I tried the cetaphil lotion.

  3. Hey! I have combination skin too, so I totally feel you with the dry patches this time of year. As for recommendation, the first product that came to mind was the CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion PM. It’s a little on the expensive side for drugstore, but it’s soooo worth it.
If you want to save some money and are feeling a little risque, you could try adding a drop or two of extra virgin olive oil or any other oil into your regular moisturizer. For olive oil, it probably won’t smell too awesome and it might feel oily throughout the night, but it really does the trick. Sometimes when I’m really dry, I slap only olive oil on my face and call it a moisturizing overnight treatment.

  4. thanks for all suggestions!! I’ll definitely check out those products and who knows they may lead to a review :]

    Just as an update:
If you don’t have big dry patches, but little baby ones, you may want to find a fine facial scrub. You don’t want the bits to be too abrasive, but something that’s fine enough to help buff out the unruly skin. I used the Merle Norman version last night and it’s helped a little, but i still see some dry patches
