[MY DIARY] Mystery Diagnosis

Hi Hi Hi!

I have been MIA lately, but I have a good reason. For the past month and a half I have been dealing with some minor health issues. However, I don’t have a diagnosis of what it is that I am going through. I have done multiple tests, seen my doctors and nobody seems to be able to give me an answer.

It all started around the first week of January. I felt some pain in my lower abdominal area and upper pelvic region (on the sides). I thought it was cramps because Mother Nature was supposed to come but didn’t.

I didn’t think anything of it because I am on the pill and I had made a switch to a new one about two months prior and my body was still getting used to the new pill. Once I started taking the regular hormonal pill (not the placebo ones), I thought the pain would go away. However it didn’t; the pain was worse than before – so instead of going to work I went to Urgent Care.

I waited about two hours until finally being seen, and once the guy heard everything I was going through, he said that he doesn’t have the equipment to see exactly what’s going on and I would have to see my OB especially since I switched pills. He told me to just go home and rest, and if I started throwing up, had a fever, or blood coming out where it shouldn’t to go to the emergency room. So I went home and rested and waited for my OB appointment that Thursday.

Thursday came around and when I told my OB exactly what was happening, she was perplexed too. She said they will test for everything, but it didn’t sound like I had an infection or was pregnant, but they still tested for everything. To no surprise, everything came back negative. So she had recommended me to get ultrasounds done on my pelvic region and she also did a PAP.

In between that Thursday and the day of my ultrasound, I was in a lot of pain and the pain was more persistent after I would eat something. I had been starving myself during work so that way I could function and my appetite had decreased as well.

Then I went to a GP (General Practitioner) and he thought it was gallstones, and since his ultrasound thing wasn’t working he sent me to get a CT scan of my abdomen. I drank a disgusting drink which legitimately made me want to throw up because of how sweet and thick it was. I think I had 40 fl. oz that I had to drink (probably more than that) and I couldn’t eat anything. Overall I was miserable and the test showed nothing.

Unknowingly my doctor had referred me to get an ultrasound done of my upper abdomen. I’m really not sure why because I thought the CT scan would’ve showed everything. Now I am low-key freaking out because I had scheduled a follow-up appointment with my GP for Friday, but I got a voicemail from them asking if I can go in tomorrow. I am hoping that I will have answer by tomorrow.
