[REVIEW] Milani | 2-in-1 Foundation

Hi hi hi!

I promised this post a while ago, but I got distracted with work and other things. I’ve been trying a bunch of new foundations out and then today I saw this in the back of my foundation stash and remembered I didn’t post my review! So here it is, I must admit it won’t be the greatest, but let’s jump in!

  • Coverage: Honestly this has some amazing coverage on it. I have a couple of trouble areas and I am honestly impressed with how well they cover everything! It’s a full coverage foundation, but like most full coverage foundations you can thin it out using your daily moisturizer.
  • Longevity: I live a pretty busy lifestyle and I usually wear my makeup for 13+ hours. It can be difficult to find a foundation that holds up to my lifestyle; because this foundation has a thicker coverage than most other foundations it holds up to my long days and even when I go to the gym.

  • Wear: Throughout the day I noticed that it started to bunch up on my face – I really have no other way to describe it. It literally looked like little balls of foundation on my face. In other areas it accentuated my dry spots and it started to wear off unevenly.
  • Application: The only way to apply this is using a damp sponge. I’ve tried using a a duo fiber brush, I’ve tried using a traditional foundation brush, even my hands (which I don’t like doing), and nothing worked. When I used the brushes, I could see it tugging at my skin every time I tried to blend it out, it kept tugging at my skin. It felt as if it was too tacky to blend out. With my hands it felt way too caky and heavy. I’m not a huge fan of using a sponge anymore because I honestly don’t want to waste my time with it, but it’s really the only way I got this foundation to look good and even.

I’m definitely not impressed with this foundation. I really wanted to love it because I haven’t really seen a lot of drug store foundations that offer full coverage. I had high hopes and like I said I really wanted to fall in love it, but the cons, though they may not be a lot, are major factors! For my personal lifestyle and skin type this is just not the foundation for me. No matter how much I moisturize my skin won’t be smooth enough for this foundation. No matter what type of primer I put, it won’t blend out smoothly without a damp sponge. This is a high maintenance foundation and I’m not about that life. It even wears horribly on my skin. I don’t want to walk around with little patches of my foundation bunching up together.
