Drug Store | Ride or Die – Eye Edition

Drug Store - Ride or Die | Eye Edition

NYX – Eye Shadow Base
I used this eye shadow base for maybe about 2-3 years and it seriously is just as good as any department store base that I’ve tried. I love how it helped my eyeshadows stay put all day, but I also loved how it would provide an even color all over my lids and it doubled as a light layer of concealer for my dark circles.

Maybelline – Lash Sensational
Seriously this is one of my go-to mascaras it’s one of those I don’t really have to think about when I’m in a rush to pick up a mascara. Maybelline’s The Falsies Flared (wp) used to be my holy grail mascara and I swore by it! However, I picked it up recently and I feel like something changed with the wand; it felt so flimsy.
When it comes to Lash Sensational, I just love how it provides volume and definition to my lashes. I also love that the formula is kind of dry because it does make separating my lashes a dream. I do have to give an honorable mention – I didn’t fully include it because it is pretty new in my collection and it’s the The Falsies Push Up Angel. It doesn’t add as much volume, but it does an amazing job at separating and defining my lashes.

NYX – Prismatic Shadows – Bedroom Eyes
If you want a multi-tasking eyeshadow this is it! I can seriously create a full eye look using this color and a highlighting shade and I’m done. It’s such a multidimensional shade that you can apply it on your lid, use a denser crease brush and place it in your crease, and then use an even denser brush to concentrate it in the outer corner. If I’m in a rush or need a classic look fast – this is what I reach for.

Maybelline – Chai Latte Quad
Okay, so the bummer is that this is not the OG Chai Latte Quad. The quad I’m talking about comes in the old school blue packaging and that is the one I fall back on a lot, especially when I’m traveling. I haven’t seen the new version (pictured) in person so I’m not sure how it compares. I love the original one because the gold color was so pigmented and rich, the matte dark brown was like milk chocolate, the taupe was perfect for blending and filling in my brows, and the cream color wasn’t too shimmery, but wasn’t a flat matte. This palette is so sleek and I can create so many different looks which is why I sometimes still bring it with me when I travel.

e.l.f. – Instant Life Brow Pencil
This is definitely a new product, but I’ve already gone through 6 of these (I use 2 different shades). I used to fill my brows in with powder, but then I started to not like how intense they looked. The dilemma was that I was extremely hesitant to use a pencil and I really didn’t want to invest more than $6 on a pencil. I was so excited when I found this and I seriously love how natural it makes my brows and the lasting power it has. I use two colors (taupe and neutral brown) the darker color I use to define underneath my brow and tail, and the lighter color I use to fill in my brow. Seriously it’s such a great product and I feel like it’s extremely used friendly. If you’re a beginner and have a light touch/watched a decent amount of tutorials, this is a great way to begin filling in your brows with a pencil.

This is another one that I’ve gone through multiples on – not just one, not just two, but maybe 3-4. I love how the felt tip on this particular liner is extremely sturdy because it helps you control the thickness of the line. It is a lot chunkier than other liquid liners out there and my favorite liner that I’m using now, but it’s still easy to work with and stays put on my wonky oily lids. I keep an extra one in my collection just in case I ever run out of my favorite eyeliner and need a dependable backup.
These are my picks for my drug store faves. I will go back to these time and time again; well, maybe not Maybelline’s quad since it changed. What are your favorites?  Let me know in the comments down below!
