Hi hi hi !
I have been debating whether or not I wanted to post this review – mainly because you can’t get your hands on this specific palette anymore. It came out as a limited launch from Too Faced and was only available at Ulta. I was lucky enough, well my sister was actually the one who found one that was lucky enough to find one hidden box so I definitely had to pick it up. Keep reading to see why I decided to post this review…
Too Faced holds a very special place in my heart. It was one of the first brands that I ever used and it’s the brand that made me really fall in love with makeup. Over the years, I have branched out to different brands, but continue to fall in love with Too Faced’s packaging and products.
However, I haven’t really invested into many Too Faced eyeshadow palettes in a while, and once I really looked at this palette and used it, I remembered why I decided to pass on a lot of the other palettes.
Once you get past the packaging, I felt like this was so similar to a lot of eyeshadow palettes I’ve seen Too Faced has put out in the past. You have your blending/crease shades (matte), shimmery golds, taupes, dark browns, and then you have 1-2 pops of colors (usually one). I mean I’ve seen these combinations before and I don’t know why, but for some reason, I’m left wanting something more.
I’ve used practically every shade in the palette, and though I love the formula, pigmentation, and blend-ability, I just feel like the looks are just okay. There is 1-2 shades that I really feel are unique to this palette, but other than that these are just really great eyeshadows that come in a cute packaging.
- Pigmentation: 10/10
- Longevity: 8/10
- Texture: 10/10
- Application: 10/10
If you have never tried Too Faced eyeshadows, I’m telling you, you need to try them! I would suggest investing in their Natural Eyes palette or their Natural Matte Palette. Their eyeshadows are so buttery and so easy to apply and blend out – seriously, they have my favorite eyeshadow formula. The only problem I have with this particular palette is that some of these shadow’s intensity doesn’t last throughout the day and for me it’s mainly with Honey Lavender (shimmery taupe with hints of purple). These remind me how much I love Too Faced eyeshadows, but for some reason, this palette is lacking something, what it is I’m not sure.
Have you tried this palette? What do you think about it? Also, I hope you decide to join #blogmas! Let me know what your favorite Too Faced product is in the comments below. **Please note that this review is only on the palette and not the mascara. Unfortunately, my eyes are extremely watery and I’m unable to use regular mascara; my mascara always has to be waterproof. I might ask my mom if she can try it and let me know.**
