Merry #Blogmas Day 6 | DIY Fitness Planner

Hi hi hi!

Today, we’re building off of my previous DIY planner and creating our very own fitness planner! It’s super easy and hopefully will help you on your fitness journey.

We’re going to start of the basic planner. If you haven’t checked out my DIY you can check it out by clicking here. The planner that I DIY’d is a basic planner that follows a similar design/layout to most planners.

From here you will need:

  • Access to Microsoft word or a similar program
  • Scissors
  • Thick paper/cardstock
  • Decorating supplies
  • Patience

This is the layout we are going to be following for our weekly goals insert:

How To:

  1. In your Microsoft Word (or similar program) arrange the view to ‘Landscape’ and format it so that there are 2 columns and change the margins from the default of 1” to the narrowest setting you have – usually it’s 0.5”.
  2. We will be using the shape feature and textbox feature. Using the shape feature, we’re going to be using boxes to create the “Weekly Goal Section” and “Workout Tracker.” You can change the sizes of the box and how you have them placed depending on how you would like them arranged, but I figured that this layout would work for me.
  3. Using the insertion of textboxes we will go ahead and label each section. You can then copy the layout and paste it on the other side of the page or you can create the same layout.

Keep in mind that the size of each of these inserts will be 5.5” x 8.15” and you also need to make enough room for the holes. You should be able to get 2 weeks worth of inserts from a standard size letter paper (8.5”x11”).

Once you are satisfied with the layout you can go ahead and print. I would highly suggest printing on plain white cardstock so that you can really have the colors pop. However, if you are just printing with black ink, you can go ahead and use colored cardstock that coordinates with the theme of your planner.

Now we will work on a monthly goal layout (see below):

You will want to follow the same steps/process as we did for the Weekly Goal inserts. The only difference is that this time, the sections will be different. Again, depending on what your fitness goals are, you can change these portions however you want. For me I decided that I wanted to focus on measurements and the days that I worked out.

This is a basic template that you can use and this layout can be used for a multitude of things.
