Hi hi hi!
THIS IS A PROCLAMATION THAT I WILL GET BETTER AT DOCUMENTING MY MEALS! Now that that’s out of the way, welcome back to another What’s In Janellie’s Belly! Let’s begin with the usual updates.
If you are subscribed to me on YouTube (youtube.com/msluvly1234) you will see an updated video regarding motivation. I wanted to start doing weekly updates on my channel as well because I feel like this whole health journey is something that a lot of people can relate with. I hope you head over to my channel and decide to check out the video – it is longer than a lot of my other recent videos, but I had a lot of things I wanted to say and I hope that it helps you on your journey and we can continue to support each other.
This past week, I have been honestly dealing with a lot of dookie psychologically. I have had a difficult time sleeping and I would wake up at like 2 or 3 in the morning just thinking about everything that needs to be done the next day or just worrying about all the paperwork and things I need to do for my condo. I just have a lot on my mind and it doesn’t help that my office is having corporate visitors the next couple of weeks (even more stress)! In order to at least pretend to be a functional human being during the day, I opted to not go to the gym in the morning this whole week and by the time I got home I would be so tired (from not being able to sleep) that I would just eat, shower and sleep. There were even some days that I just felt so overwhelmed that I would skip lunch and not eat anything till dinner!
Overall it was just a tough week for me.
I’m currently doing a lot better this week, so let’s jump into the food!
When I woke up this morning I wasn’t that hungry, so I decided to finish up some clam chowder we had (about 1 cup) and I added some rice in there to bulk it up a bit. I also had a slice of banana bread (which looks like a meat patty in the picture) and my multi-vitamin and B-Complex. It was yummy and I was extremely full afterwards. However, after my staff meeting my stomach was roaring! It was so embarrassing because event my co-workers could hear it!
Like usual, I forgot to take a picture of my lunch (and snack – spoiler alert), but I had shrimp pad thai from Tiger Wok which is located in Caesars Palace food court. It is so yummy, but the portion is so large that I can never finish it! This is day 2 of having it and I’m not event sorry about it.
Yes, I know my food always looks so bland, but it can’t be helped. I don’t usually prepare it (since I still live with my family) and I’m not going to complain about the food the feed me for FREE. Anyhow, tonight’s dinner consisted of left over meat loaf, rice, and corn beef hash patties (with ketchup). The corned beef hash patty consists of canned corned beef, eggs, cooked potatoes, mayonnaise, thinly sliced onions, and seasonings. It’s then coated in panko and fried. It’s one of the foods that I hated as a kid, but now I absolutely love it. I also had 2 pieces of Chinese eggplant that I picked out of another dish called sinigang (Filipino soup) and I also spooned some of the soup on my rice, hence the little piece of shaven tomato (which looks like a carrot) on top of my rice.
As usual I had my morning coffee with hazelnut creamer and hazelnut powder from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. To calm my restless stomach after my staff meeting I had a cranberry, raisin, chocolate chip oatmeal cookie that my co-worker made. It was so yummy, but I restrained myself to only having one because I didn’t want to leave one lonely cookie in the container. On my way home from work I was sooooooo hungry I reached for my snack reserve in my bag which was a white chocolate raspberry Quest bar. I also made myself some cran-apple juice to go along with my dinner.
