Hi hi hi!
With Urban Decay having their Friends and Fanatics sale I decided to quickly post my thoughts on Urban Decay’s Liquid Lipstick in Double Crossed. If you haven’t seen my review for Rapture, you can check it out here!
What Is It?: “This is Vice Liquid Lipstick – a waterproof formula so life-proof, it’s not going ANYWHERE until you take it off. (Just Imagine the possibilities.) What makes Vice different? Our high-tech formula provides longer-lasting wear with ZERO transfer. Like our original formula, Vice Liquid Lipstick lays down intensely pigmented color. And the comfortable, nondrying wear sets it apart from other liquid lipsticks.” – Urbandecay.com

This formula is extremely matte and once it begins to dry, you will feel a tightening sensation, which is typical when it comes to a lot of matte liquid lipsticks. The first thing I noticed during application was how patchy it applied. There were areas where I could still see my natural lip color coming through and there were areas where the color was extremely pigmented. I had a difficult time getting an even application and also getting an even application on my inner lip as well. It took about 3 coats to get an even application.
The wear on this particular color is pretty horrific. I have to say this has been the worst color I have ever tried – and I’ve tried a lot of liquid lipsticks. After eating and drinking, I noticed a ton of patches and not to mention it started to transfer onto my teeth! For a long-wearing lip product, I definitely didn’t expect it to do this.
Though this claimed to be ‘life-proof’ it couldn’t even hold up to me eating lunch! When it did fade, it ended up fading so badly and unevenly. There was a harsh difference from where the color faded and where the color started. You would think that when it faded it would only be on the inner portion, but nope, it faded further down my lips! It was pretty horrific and I felt like the color just ended up going everywhere.
I would say this is a definite PASS. Unfortunately the formulation for this darker color is horrific. I really wanted to love this color and the formulation, but it’s just a really bad combination. I was really expecting the formulation to be better since there are a lot of other liquid lip products out there on the market and Urban Decay was one of the last brands to come out with their version.
