Essence | Pure NUDE Highlighter

Hi hi hi!

I seriously have tried to write a review on this highlighter multiple times, but for some reason, I would always get distracted with another product. I finally sat myself down to finish this review and I have to say, I still love this product as much as I did before.

What is it?: “reflection of light! the spotlight is on the highlighter in the popular NUDE family. the soft, baked powder texture with a slightly marbeled effect brings a subtle shimmer to the face. ideal for a healthy look with a glow!” –

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I’m going to get straight to the point – if you have oily, textured, skin but want to still have a glow/highlight on your skin, THIS is an amazing product! I have been straying away from mainstream highlighters because honestly, my skin’s texture hasn’t been the greatest and a regular highlight has been leaving the bumps and pores more noticeable and by the end of the day, my highlighter has settled in the my trouble area.

I got this product after watching emily noel’s video (click here to watch). I was in the market for a product that would provide me with some type of illumination/glow without looking overly shimmery. When I finally got my hands on this and tried it out, I was so impressed with how smooth it applied and it provided me with a natural glow without having too much shimmer. In fact, as my natural oils started to mix with the product, it looked even better!

This is such a great affordable product that is easy to use and I would highly recommend this to everyone that I know! Though it looks pigmented in the pan, if you use a lightly-dense brush, you will get a golden glow without looking too pigmented.

Pigmentation: 9/10

Longevity: 10/10

Texture: 10/10

Application: 10/10

Overall: 9.75/10

Like I had mentioned above, this a great product for those who have textured skin or feel like they are too oily to use any type of highlighter. This provides the naturalist glow, however, you will want to keep in mind that this is almost like a baked product and it will have a ton of kick-up when you swirl your brush in it. I highly suggest to use a lightly-dense brush for application, that way you get an even and natural glow. If you are looking for a product that is wham-bam in your face, glowing to the gods highlight, this is not the product for you. If you’re looking for something that you could reach for everyday no matter what type of look you’re going for, then this is such an affordable and amazing product.
