Hi hi hi!
I wanted to post a little life update. I know it has been a while since any reviews went up, but I wanted to share a little about what’s been going on and why reviews have been so slow lately.
- Bored: There hasn’t really been any new makeup launches/releases that have really gotten me excited, except for the SephoraxMoschino collection, but we all know what happened with that. Since there hasn’t really been anything exciting, I haven’t felt the need to go out and purchase any new products. I guess you can say I’m in a makeup rut; or maybe the industry is in a rut. I’m not sure what it is. The only other collection that I was merely interested in was the Midnight Mermaid collection from Wet n Wild, again, I had issues with ordering the product online and eventually I got over it. Maybe if I stumble upon it at my local Walgreens I’ll be inclined to try it out, but as of right now there hasn’t been anything too interesting.
- New Hobby: I recently picked up a new hobby and I have been enjoying taking the time out of the day to really let the creative energy flow. For a while I’ve been having the feeling of being stuck in a box. I could draw on the walls of that box, but that was basically it. I wanted something more and I wanted something where I can really just create things so I recently got into learning lettering, which is extremely difficult, and it lead me into card making (grandma status, I know), but I’ve just been enjoying taking the time out of the day to do something where I can step outside of my box.
- New Goal: As we all know, makeup reviews are pricey. I would literally save up whatever extra money I can and use it to invest back into reviews. However, I have set a new goal for myself and it’s one that will need an investment; so I have drifted away from saving up for makeup to saving up for new bowling equipment and tournaments/leagues. I have loved bowling for so long and it was something that I had previously committed myself to, but I stopped really pursuing it back in 2015. I recently picked it up again, and I want to commit myself to doing something more with it.
All the above has factored into the lack of reviews on this blog. It doesn’t mean that I’m done reviewing makeup, but I’m done reviewing products I’m not genuinely interested in. When I started this blog, I didn’t want it to be a full-on makeup blog. I wanted it to be a lifestyle blog where I share tips, tricks, etc. that I use in my life and also review not just makeup, but other things as well!
However, there is a fine line. As much as I love this blog, I need to separate my crafting from it, but where do I draw that line? It’s something that I’m going to have to sort out and figure out. Who knows, at this point, I may be biting off way more than I can chew.
