[Lifestyle] Keto Diet – January 3, 2018

Hi hi hi!

I have been loving the keto experience so far! I have been content with the way I’m feeling. Today was the second day that I was able to wake up and not dred getting out of bed – I guess it helps that I have been working hard to get my YouTube videos up semi-consistently. Anyhow, let’s go right into the meals.

Breakfast:

img_6355.jpgI had basically the same thing I had yesterday – 3 Little Sizzlers, ¼ of the egg that I cooked yesterday, and ½ an avocado sprinkled with lime juice and salt. I actually cut the avocado yesterday and sprinkled it with lime juice hoping it wouldn’t oxidize… I was wrong. Anyhow, to go along with my breakfast I had a 10 oz. cup of McCafe Medium Roast coffee with 1 T. of Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s Hazelnut powder and 2 T. of Coffee Mate Vanilla Creamer which I frothed.IMG_6356.jpg

Since I’m being completely honest, while breakfast was cooking, I had a couple nibbles at my leftover dinner; and by a couple nibbles, I mean picking out a couple pieces of chicken. I couldn’t resist, it’s just so yummy!

No mid-morning snack

Lunch:

If you read my last blog post, you’ll know that I didn’t eat all my lunch, so today, I heated up the remaining and this time I remembered to eat it with my avocado. Again, I prepped my avocado the day before and sprinkled it with lime juice, but it still oxidized! Anyhow, I didn’t think it was enough so I brought in some of the roasted veggies and chicken pesto casserole, but I didn’t end up eating that.IMG_6358.jpg

Dinner:

IMG_6359.jpgI got home pretty late tonight and I needed a little snacky snack while I was prepping my actual dinner- I had ½ of a KIND bar in my favorite…flavor? I don’t think they are considered flavors, but I love the almond and cranberry bar. For dinner I made myself 2 cloud bread pizzas using cloud bread, about ½ T of alfredo sauce on each pizza, some mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Not the most gourmet, but it does the trick. To beef it up  little more I also had one hard boiled egg.IMG_6360.jpg

Exercise:

I’m not sure if bowling counts as exercise, but I will consider it the same as walking, so there’s that.

I think this was another successful day. I almost gave into the temptation of having a slice of pizza, but I told myself that if I finished all the food that I brought and I was still hungry, then I can have a slice; and by have a slice, I really mean eat all the pepperoni and sausages.

The one thing that I noticed is that for some meals, I simply can’t overeat because I begin to feel sick. It’s almost as if there’s too much of a good thing. For example, this morning while I was eating my sausages, I began to feel that nauseating feeling where it’s just too much of a fatty food. I’m not sure if that makes much sense, but I can see why some people’s portion sizes decreases, it’s because you get fuller faster since it’s a heavier meal.

I have also noticed that my coffee in the morning affects me more than usual. Usually I can have my normal cup of coffee and still be tired, where now I have my cup of coffee and I actually feel more awake. This whole thing is interesting to me. I know I haven’t been on this diet to really see a lot of difference, but I think because I slowly eased myself into it, my body has been able to respond a little bit to the actual diet itself.

Note – I am still waiting on my keto supplement. I’m hoping to get it by the end of this week!

xoxo,
