Hi hi hi!
I have a love hate relationship when it comes to 3-day weekends. I love that I get an extra day to do whatever I want, but I hate how it makes the week seem so much longer! Anyhow, let’s jump into today’s food diary!
This morning I was able to get myself out of bed and head to the gym. I prepped my usual pre-workout with ketones and some water.
Today I wanted to focus on legs, but I didn’t want to go too HAM because I have bowling tomorrow and I need my legs to function, so I went relatively easy on them (or so I thought). Around my second set of squats, a muscle in my right thigh became extremely sore (almost if I had put too much strain on it), so it was difficult to fully complete my leg day workout, but here’s what I did:
- 10 Minute warm up on treadmill
- Weighted Squats (3 sets of 5) with 10lb dumbells
- Weighted lunges (4 sets of 5) with 10lb dumbells
- 10 Minute cool down on treadmill
When it finally came time to cook my breakfast, I was starving! So I cooked up 3 Little Sizzler sausages, broke them into small pieces and added in about ¼ cup of mushrooms, a handful of tomatoes, two eggs (seasoned) and some cheese. I created a yummy omelette and served it with ½ cup of white jasmine rice. It was so ono (yummy) and so filling!
No mid-morning snack.
I prepped a small serving of brussel sprouts, roasted carrots, and my chicken casserole.
One of my co-workers had her birthday this past weekend, so we had Sprinkles Cupcakes (my weakness). I ended up splitting their lemon coconut cupcake with my supervisor. I’m not a huge fan of coconut flakes, but I will make an exception for this!
Late afternoon snack:
So I knew that I had to drink my Keto OS drink before dinner so that way I don’t over do it. I ended up mixing that together around 5:00PM and finished it at 6:00PM. I just have such a tough time drinking it because it’s so rich and creamy. I think if I got something not as creamy/rich then it would be easier for me to finish.
I also had some almonds, a hard boiled egg with a little bit of salt and string cheese. After finishing my Keto OS drink I wasn’t feeling too well, but after I got some of these things into my tummy, I felt a lot better.
An Asian tradition we have is to eat noodles on one’s birthday, so of course we had to have pancit and you really can’t have pancit without lumpia and we had to incorporate our Japanese side so we had some tonkatsu as well. I decided to include a picture of our food and the bottom picture is my actual plate.
Along with it being my co-worker’s birthday, it’s my sister’s birthday. Of course we had to celebrate it with cake! I love Sam’s Club’s cakes – they’re just so moist, but I can’t really eat the frosting because it’s too sweet for me.
This morning I felt pretty energized, after my pre-workout of course. However, I really only had decaf Keurig pods at home, so I used those to make my coffee today, and boy, I could have definitely used that extra energy from my morning coffee. Anyhow, throughout the rest of the day I was okay – I felt awake, but not as alert. I also have to assume that since I’m getting up earlier, my energy is probably going to run out towards “bed time.”
Today was a tough day in terms of eating. I don’t want this diet to dictate my social life and I don’t want to feel left out on special occasions. However, that’s the great part of this diet too! It allows me to be this flexible and to have treats, but I must admit, I do love my clean eating. I can really tell a difference in the way my body feels. As much as I love my desserts, they make me feel lethargic, bloated, and overly hyped. It’s not worth it in my opinion, but on special occasions, I will definitely make an exception. I also had a tough time walking around today after my little gym session, but I just need to keep stretching out my leg. Fingers crossed that I don’t have noodle legs tomorrow.
