Hi hi hi!
It has been so chaotic in my world that I haven’t had time to really post an update! With the boyfriend moving in, work, and just trying to figure out what’s for dinner, the blogging has gone on the back burner for a little bit. However, I have missed it a lot. So I figured, what better way than to recap my week in a post? Just to share some fun tid-bits here and there.
Before I jump in, when you consider the beginning of a week? It’s Sunday right? I never really received any confirmation regarding this, but oh well.
Sunday, was a very eventful day for me – woke up early and went to the 8:30AM service all by myself! Yes, to both statements: I don’t usually go to that early service because nobody likes a grumpy-non-caffeinated-slob, but I figured out a way to pull myself together to be pleasant and decided to caffeinate myself there. Also, fun fact, I usually attend services with my mom and sisters, but since they’re having a blast in Hawaii, I had to put on my big-girl pants and go by myself.
As always, it was a great service and one that I needed to hear. Interestingly enough it was about anxiety. Definitely took as many notes as possible because we all know how badly I need it.
After church, the boyfriend and I headed over to a local alley to bowl a small tournament – 5 games, $30 (?), Milky Way pattern. It was fun to try to compete on a pattern. Ended up -10 (plus handicap) for the day. The fourth game really killed my vibe, but I was able to pull it together for a decent fifth game. I really can’t complain since I felt like I threw the ball pretty well the whole day, but my spare game was atrocious. If I had picked up my spares like I was supposed to, it could have been an easy 170+ which would have helped immensely.
Work has been pretty slow all week. A lot of follow-up from events that we had, which equals a lot of copying and pasting thank yous.
Since the boyfriend has moved in, I have been trying to find a balance in regards to getting everything done. By everything I mean: laundry, dishes, and more laundry and more dishes with cooking in between. I don’t mind the cooking, but thinking of meals has been quite difficult since he’s lactose intolerant and doesn’t really care for a bunch of veggies. However, I love to pack as much veggies as I can and a lot of the meals that I want to prepare have a lot of dairy products in it. So, you can see the difficulty there. Over the weekend I did make Spam Musubis and Teriyaki Spam Musubis, which were simply amazing! On Monday night I tried to make teriyaki chicken katsu, but the shoyu I used made it way too salty once it was cooked. I think if I had a different type of shoyu it would have turned out amazing. I also tried to prepare mine with a dredge of mainly almond flour mixed with regular flour, but that was a fail. The crust ended up falling off the chicken, but made for a delicious snack while waiting for the rest of the chicken to cook.
Okay, enough about food before I get too hungry. I wanted to start a series called, “In The Kitchen,” actually, I should already have the first post up, so if I do, you can check it out here. It’s just a quick way for me to share what I’ve been cooking/making without having to go too in depth.
Lately, I have been wanting to immerse myself back into some of my hobbies, and by hobbies, I really mean card making. I made this cute little card for my friend – just a way to say “Hi, I’m thinking of you!” It’s such a nice way to let someone know you care. Which reminds me, I still need to send my other friend her Christmas present and I need to give my other friend her graduation card! Geez, December just flew by!
Wednesday and Friday night were filled with bowling – I won women’s hdcp side pot in my Friday night league. My dad and I had a chance to win second game handicap side pot, but they ended up calling games one and three, unfortunately that’s always how our luck goes. I was just happy to get my money back from the league.
Saturday was filled with running errands at the local outlet and Ikea and of course putting all the Ikea furniture together, which I actually enjoy doing. Later on we went over to my boyfriend’s friends’ house and played one of my favorite games 7 Wonders. If you haven’t heard of it, you definitely need to go and check it out. It’s almost like Catan, but not as long, which is why I enjoy it. Catan is just too long of a game for me to keep up.
Anyhow, those are my ramblings for this week.
P.s. I hope you enjoyed the random pictures!
P.S.S. I forgot to tell you guys, it SNOWED! Yes, believe it or not, it snowed in Las Vegas. It was only a little flurry in the South Western area of Las Vegas, but hey, it doesn’t happen everyday. Okay, I swear that’s it for today!
