[Lifestyle] In The Kitchen – Butter Chicken

Hi hi hi!
As I type this, it’s Tuesday, but I hope you guys had a great Monday. I wanted to take some time to share an extremely easy dinner idea and the best part is that it’s extremely affordable as well.

Now, I have to admit, I’m not an extremely adventurous foodie, but I do like to try new things. I found this packet as I was strolling through the isles at Wally World (Walmart) and it sounded good enough, I mean, butter and chicken. Need I say more?! The packet was about $0.96 and it packs so much flavor and you honestly don’t have to add a ton of other things to this. Also, the macros on this aren’t too bad. I mean you have to think that once you put in the liquids the seasoning packet extends to multiple portions. IMG_6803.JPG

Anyhow I didn’t have all the ingredients I needed for this, I know shame on me, but I made it the best I could. One of the things I like about this packet is that I don’t really need to buy a ton of extra groceries like I do for some other packets. I’m sure we all have chicken, onions, and butter already, so the extra groceries I ended up (needing to) pick up were:

  • 15 oz can of tomato sauce
  • heavy (or light) cream

IMG_6804.JPGSeriously, those were the only extra ingredients that I needed. Crazy right?! Oh and another amazing part is that this is a one-pan meal! For your pan, I highly suggest using a pan that has deep sides so that way your sauce can fully cover the chicken. The steps for actually cooking the meal are extremely easy as well. All you do is sear the chicken, take it out of the pan and set it aside. Then in the same pan, add in your chopped onion and butter. Cook the onion till translucent, add your chicken back into the pan and dump in the seasoning packet, tomato sauce and heavy cream. Simmer for about 15 – 20 minutes till the chicken is thoroughly cooked and bam. You are done. Serve it on some rice with a side of veggies and you are good to go! IMG_6812

Super easy, affordable and quick. I love this and it feels heavy without being extremely heavy. Let me know if you try it out!
