Hi hi hi!
Happy Friyay! The week is finally done and I am so excited for the weekend. So today’s weekly update will focus on last week. For some reason, last week felt like it kicked my a$$ – I just felt like it left me feeling drained and ready for a change.
I went down a dark hole last week on YouTube and I have been obsessively watching bullet journal videos as well as a ton of Plan With Me videos. So of course, I bit the bullet (see what I did there) and picked up a bullet journal of my own. I’m sure you can imagine that I have been obsessed with working on my bullet journal and it has kind of consumed my life.
However, I am struggling with the idea of whether I want to share it here or share it on the blog that I started for my family. Since I am so proud of myself, for now I will post it here! The reason why I fell in love with the bullet journal idea because it allowed me the flexibility that I have craved with all my other planners. I can organize it and customize it to my needs. So far I only have a couple of spreads in my journal, but let me show you what I have so far.
Having a monthly spread is extremely important to me. In all my other planners it is often my most looked at page. I rely on it to constantly give me an idea of the what lies ahead. I began with my header, which was extremely simple since it’s just the month. Below that is a list of important dates, which are mainly upcoming birthdays that I need to remember.
I really loved the idea of having a goals page because it provides you with an idea of where you want to go and you can then plan the steps that you need to take to get there. I just simply split this page into three main sections and these are the goals that I want to accomplish for the month and it’s pretty self-explanatory.
Since this was my first weekly layout, I went ahead and used a very typical layout you would see in most planners where each day has a horizontal box. I actually ended up starting this on a Sunday only because it was Easter and it didn’t make sense for me to not include Easter since my theme revolved around bunnies.
I have just recently added these two layouts. Mainly because these are the websites and Etsy stores that I want to purchase planner stickers from and often times I will just be browsing Etsy for cute planner stickers and I will NEVER remember to favorite the shop or the item and when I’m ready to purchase something, I can’t remember the shop. This way I can just look back on my list.
I am also a bit of a shopaholic, and when it’s slow at work, I often wander to some of my favorite websites and I end up ordering things but, I’m never really good with remembering what I ordered. I wanted to create a place where I can write down the things that I ordered and check them off as I receive them.
In regards to the weekly layout, I think I might try something different. What that is, I’m not sure, but there’s just something about this week’s layout that is leaving me wanting more. The layout is functional, but only to a certain extent. It feels boring and scattered.
I hope you guys enjoyed this little change in my weekly update! I really have fallen in love with bullet journaling because it has allowed me to practice my calligraphy/lettering. It has also kind of forced me to work on my drawing skills and look for new techniques in regards to how to draw easy doodles. I just think it’s a happy medium when it comes to creativity and purpose. Anyhow, let me know if you do bullet journalling in the comments down below! I would love to check out your spreads – I am always on the hunt for new ideas. Also, if you have any recommendations for me regarding planner sticker shops on Etsy, leaves those in the comments as well! I think eventually I will move this to my other blog that I have started for my family because it is so heavily “craft” related, but for now, I will be updating it here!
