Hi hi hi!
I wanted to ease my way back on to this blog with something that I has been bringing me a lot of peace this past month. Recently, bullet journaling (BuJo) has been something that has helped me in regards to my creativity and letting my emotions out.
This was my first attempt at bullet journaling and honestly I am addicted!
As you can tell I tried to stick with an Easter theme since April 1st was Easter. However, when I initially began setting up my journal, I noticed that I didn’t even include April 1st! So I had to re-do everything so the theme made sense haha, the sturggle was real that Saturday!
As I was planning out my BuJo setup I knew that I wanted to have a monthly calendar. A monthly calendar is helpful for me because it provides me a space to look at the bigger picture of when everything is happening. I wanted this journal to mainly function as my social media calendar, so things for my blog, Instagram, YouTube, etc. I wanted to be able to see the month in full and plan out when I wanted to accomplish certain things.
I wanted to be able to keep track of certain things, but mainly my social media platforms. I thought that it would be a good way to motivate myself to keep going and I could track my progress throughout the month in my weekly layouts.
When it came to my weekly layout, I really wasn’t sure how I wanted to keep my weekly layout, which is why I love the BuJo. You can switch it up weekly to fit your needs and you’ll see that I do end up changing my layouts throughout the month.
April 1 – 8, 2018
This week, I stuck to a very simple layout that you will see in most horizontal pattern. It was very structured in regards to the layout because there was a line separating the days.
At the bottom of the left page, I put a “Brain Dump” section because I had a little extra room and I didn’t really have anything to put there to fill the space. I actually enjoyed having this space because it allowed me a spot to write down random things that I didn’t necessarily need.
On the right page, I had a lot of extra room. I split it into two sections and labeled one as gratitude space and the other as a goal check area. I wasn’t a huge fan of the goal check since it was a pain to go in and remember to fill that in at the end of the week. I did like having a gratitude area, but I felt like I was extremely limited in space.
I had gotten really into Erin Condren Life Planner decorating videos and I wanted to get into it as a way of memory planning, by the way I absolutely LOVE it! So I took some time to jot down stores that I wanted to check out as well as a Happy Mail list so that way I knew what I ordered, when I ordered it and when I received my order.
April 9 – 15, 2018
This week I really wanted to play with some stickers and see how I felt about incorporating them into my BuJo. To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of it because it didn’t provide me with a smooth surface on the back of those pages. The layout was extremely similar and followed the previous week’s layout, but I did incorporate a lot more color which actually made me a lot happier during the week. It was fun to look at this week and I just enjoyed seeing all the colors.
April 16 – 22, 2018
Okay, so you can see this and you will notice that I just could night find any inspiration. I did the bare minimum and just left it at that.
April 23 – 29, 2018
I went back to my theme and incorporated little carrots as date “stickers.” This week I went with a more free-styled layout and really focused on using this as a journal. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to keep up with a journal since my days are usually packed and I’m often left with very little time. Since I was struggling, I knew that I really needed to just let everything out and this week, it was much needed.
Welp, that’s all I have for my BuJo this month! The month that follows this last week is just extra pages that I used to practice some lettering. I hope you guys enjoyed this! I have been loving using my BuJo as just a creativity dump. It provides such a huge outlet for me, I really do love it. I want to see your April BuJos! Tag me on Instagram using @ciaociao808!
