[Lifestyle] IT’S A SECRET – 7.3.2018

Hi hi hi!

As I am typing this, no one knows what’s going on, not even my close family and friends. I have been keeping this secret for about a week and a half at this point and I feel like I’m going to burst!

I bet you thought this was a pregnancy announcement lol, you are oh so definitely WRONG – this is an engagement announcement! My boyfriend, I guess I call him fiancee now, proposed on Saturday, June 23rd! As I type this it is July 3rd and I thought I should start documenting this whole journey – from “will you” to “I do.” I started doing “secret” vlogs too which I’ll be excited to upload and sprinkle in.

The reason we haven’t announced it yet is because we are awaiting the most important thing – the ring! Now don’t get all judgy with the proposal, because I wouldn’t have wanted it done any other way. I was proposed to with a Pandora bracelet, that housed the world’s smallest diamond. My boyfriend said that when he was doing his research, he stumbled upon a newer gem called morganite and he wasn’t sure if I’d want something more traditional, or something more “now,” but classic. So he let me pick out my ring and I went with a tri-stone rose gold setting, with the center stone being a morganite and the two side stones regular diamonds. The morganite will be cut into a cushion shape which I think will allow the color to really shine and pop.

Since I don’t have the ring, we decided to not tell anyone and to be honest I am struggling not being able to tell my family or my best friend. I almost slipped a few times, but caught myself. Tomorrow is the fourth of July and I kind of want to announce it to our families and I want to do it in the corniest way possible! I have gone through multiple versions of this and let me just tell you, they are all corny and I love it, the fiancee, not so much. Anyhow, I wanted to pick up some fireworks and bring them over to the house with a note that says, “He POPPED the question — and I said ‘YES!’” cute right?! I also wanted to do it with mini bottles of champagne or popcorn, but I don’t know if the fiancee will let me. Who knows, I might just do it for my family because I think it would be freaking adorable!

I have also recently started planning out some of the wedding things. We haven’t picked a date yet, so it will really affect my timeline of things. I’m debating on whether I want to start a binder for the whole thing, or maybe create a BuJo for it. I tried to start a BuJo for it today and it did not come out pretty – so I’m going to think that one over a bit. I also need to consider picking up an affordable printer to print everything out. I started creating the “inserts”/pages for the binder in my Google docs, but if I do decide to pick up a binder, which I’m highly considering, I will need to print all the pages out.

Personally, I want to have a destination wedding in Hawaii, specifically the Big Island, just because I know it’s easier for my mom’s parents to attend. However, the problem with a destination wedding is that not everyone is able to make it and then they feel like they missed out on your big day. I was also considering having the main ceremony on the Big Island and hold the reception in Las Vegas. Again, another destination, but, again, who wouldn’t want to come to Vegas? The only problem is that it might be during the hottest time of the year.

There’s so much to think about, but it’s really all good things! A part of me feels sad because this is a legitimate “grown-up” step and I just want to be a kid forever, but I’m excited for this new chapter. I’m not sure when I will be able to begin releasing these posts and some of the vlogs, but if you are interested in this journey, be sure to follow me here, on Instagram (@ciaociao808) and on YouTube!
