[DIY] 2018 Planner

I would say it has almost been a year since I last posted my planner DIY on my other blog. I had intended it to be a tutorial on YouTube, but I just never got around to filming it. I am a planner/notebook addict and I love using planners to keep myself organized in fact, I currently use three different planners in my life. One for work, one for “adulting” stuff like bill payments, money management, etc., and the third planner I use for social media postings, blog posts, etc.

You would think that somewhere in the mix, I would have found a planner that has everything I could ever want, but I have yet to find that without paying an arm and a leg. So last year I decided to create my own planner, however, as I started to use it, the more I became frustrated because again it wasn’t something that had everything that I wanted. For the upcoming year (2018) I have organized my planner in a way that I hope will have everything that I need and I wanted to share it with you!

Goals For 2017

Hi hi hi!

With 2016 coming to an end, I wanted to reflect with all of you on this year’s journey. This year has had it’s own ups and downs and I have to say that it went by in a flash. At the end of the day, I can say that I’m not exactly where I thought I would be, but that just means that I have so much room to grow!

There were so many things that I was hoping to do this year and so many series, ideas, and reviews that I wanted to post about as well. However, time always seemed to never be on my side, well, time and my energy levels. Work just seemed to take a lot out of me and I tried to put in the effort to do at least one thing for my blog or Instagram, but towards the ending of this year, that just completely failed.

In a way I felt like I failed my goals that I set for myself and I feel like I put my dreams on the back burner just because it’s not what I’m supposed to be focusing on. I was hoping that I would have achieved more than I did, though I did come a long way from where I was, I wanted to do more. The thought that I could have done more brings me down, but I try not to focus on it too much.

Towards the ending of this year, I started to actually take the steps to really push myself to focus on what it is that I love to do which is blog and make YouTube videos. I had strayed away from really doing any YouTube videos because the quality was never really where I wanted it to be, so as a second Christmas gift to myself, I bought a ring light to hopefully aid with the lighting issues I have. I am so excited to actually start doing these things and I just can’t wait! I have so many ideas and directions that I want to take my channel that I sometimes have a difficult time falling asleep at night.

I also have ideas for a small business and a non-profit that I am currently working on. I am hoping to launch both very soon, but I would most likely be launching my non-profit before I launch my small business. I am also currently preparing to move out which is also very exciting and I’m interested to see how it affects my productivity when it comes to both my blog and YouTube channel.

I have a lot to look forward to in 2017 and I am more determined than ever to achieve the goals that I have for myself. I want to grow all my platforms more and I want to focus on my platforms, but I just don’t know how possible it will be when a lot of my energy is exerted at work. I love this hobby of mine, but I just hate how work takes everything out of me. Like I said, I want to be more active on my platforms because I have so much that I want to share, but when I’m exhausted and after a long day from work, I can’t fake the energy. Which in the long run affects the overall outcome of everything that I do.

So here are my goals for 2017:

  • Upload/Blog at least 3 times a week
  • Continue to do at least 1 thing (everyday) that will contribute to my YouTube/Blog
  • Work on being committed to the schedule I create for myself
  • Do at least 1-2 workouts everyday before bed
  • Incorporate more vegetables/fruits into every meal
  • Each week, set aside $20 (rainy day fund)
  • Take at least 2 trips

These are simple, but extremely realistic goals for myself and I’m hoping that in the long run I will be able to see how it all added up. I’m excited to see what 2017 holds and right now, I’m moving in the right direction.

What’s In Janellie’s Belly? | What I Ate Wednesday

Hi hi hi!

My sister wanted me to start a series called: “What’s In Janellie’s Belly?” and the premise is that I share either what I’m cooking/baking or do a What I Ate Wednesday. I used to do these types a post a while ago, but things just started to get a tad bit chaotic and it became difficult to keep up with it. Hopefully that isn’t the case for this go-around.

When I do a What I Ate Wednesday, I will be “recording” what I ate on Tuesday just so I can actually have it uploaded on Wednesday. When I do a cooking/baking recipe post, then there’s a chance that it will just be posted whenever it gets posted. I didn’t know how time consuming it can be when it comes to writing recipe posts because not only do I have to include pictures, but I also have to make sure the instructions are clear enough so that if someone attempts to do the recipe it comes out the same way.
